Listen Up! A Word from Ron…

Welcome to New Members!

We extend a very warm welcome to Michael Wonnacott. Michael joins us as a full member and is already known to quite a few of us. Enjoy and make the most of your new Club, Michael!

Working Bee – Sunday 10 September

Alan Walker is busy drawing up a list of chores for the pre-season Working Bee to get our Club looking as good as it can!

There’ll be a mix of chores, some including some heavy lifting or special skills, but there’ll also be plenty of other chores that anyone can assist with – even the bloody office workers.

Get your butts down to the Club on Sunday 10th September to lend a hand and enjoy a BBQ and a drink afterwards.

Post Season Body Maintenance

There was no intended discrimination against those who had their tummies tucked back in, but we’re very happy to see both Leonie Brown and Tom Quinn back out on the track following hernia operations! Apologies to have missed you guys last month!

Also a welcome back from some maintenance to Margy Mills!

Graham Heath had another turn recently and we wish him all the best in getting back on track.

Keeping the kitchen clean and healthy

We’ve noticed some mess left in the kitchen on occasion. We shouldn’t need to say it, but if you use the kitchen, please clean up and put away all cups, plates, cutlery, pots and pans used. Also be sure to wipe up any spills and crumbs so we don’t attract pests.

Bowling Matters!

All members are more than welcome to participate on this day also. We’re very proud of the great turnouts we’ve had in the past couple of years.

Let us know what you think / want. Player surveys are available at the Club beneath the Notice Boards. Please fill one in and leave in the box before Practice Games begin.

From the Coach’s Box

Something to watch on a rainy day….

Pete Blee sent a link to an online bowls tutorial called “Stand and Deliver”. It’s about 22 minutes in duration and looks well worth a watch. The URL is below. If you can’t click on it, copy and paste to your web browser.

There are some other (Aussie) coaching videos you can link to from our Club website – just go to the Links page and click on the link under the heading Bowls Coaching Videos.
